Create Interactive Learning Activities with Microsoft Learning Activities

Creating engaging content is easier when students can interact with it. This video shows how to use Microsoft Learning Activities to create interactive learning activities that turn simple content into active learning experiences.

Microsoft Learning Activities is an AI-powered tool in Microsoft 365. It allows you to take existing content, such as notes, slides, or readings, and turn it into interactive tasks like flashcards or practice activities. This helps move students from passive reading to active learning, which improves understanding and retention.

Start by adding your content into the tool. This could be a lesson summary, transcript, or key ideas from your course. Then, the system generates interactive activities based on that content. As a result, you save time while still creating meaningful learning tasks for students.

You can also review and refine the activity before sharing it. Adjust questions, simplify language, or expand ideas depending on your learners’ needs. This flexibility helps ensure activities are suitable for different levels and learning styles.

Once ready, share the activity with students through a link or your LMS, such as Canvas. Students can then work through tasks that include practice, feedback, and reflection. This keeps them engaged and supports deeper learning.

Using tools to create interactive learning activities also supports independent learning. Students can practise at their own pace, revisit content, and build confidence through repeated use. This makes it a useful addition to both in-class and online teaching.

Tip: Start with content you already use, like lecture notes. Turning familiar material into interactive activities is a quick way to boost engagement without extra workload.
