Information about surveys to collect feedback and data about your graduates for the purposes of Consistency Reviews
What?
The NZQA manages ongoing quality assurance to ensure consistency in graduate outcomes for levels 1 to 6 qualifications and Level 7 diplomas across New Zealand. This aims to assure stakeholders that graduates achieve equivalent standards regardless of their study programmes.
Why?
Evidence collection for this consistency is integral to programme quality and involves planning and monitoring by Heads of Schools and Programme Committees. Timing of evidence collection should align with when graduates can reasonably demonstrate specific outcomes.
MIT collects data at graduation registration regarding employment and further study, but not specifically on Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs). Hence, it’s crucial for the School to conduct Graduate, Employer, and Next Educator surveys.
When?
Graduate and employer feedback collection should be scheduled within six weeks post-programme completion and around graduation events. Maintaining graduate contact details is essential during this period.
How?
Surveys are the primary method for feedback gathering, offering a consistent, digital format suitable for visual analysis. MIT provides a master template and assistance in developing effective survey mechanisms.
Who?
Academic Teams, in collaboration with Heads of Schools and Academic Leads, ensure ongoing evidence collection. They contact graduates, employers, and educators for feedback on GPO achievement within six months of programme completion and ensure survey data is stored appropriately.
