This article demonstrates how Kaiako can set up a quiz to enable akonga to reattempt previously failed questions.
When this feature is enabled, ākonga can only view questions they previously failed, all other questions are hidden. They can reattempt the questions until they got the correct answer or they run out of attempts. Ākonga who get all questions correct will not have the option to reattempt.
To enable this feature, follow the steps below.
When setting up a ‘new’ quiz
- Click on “Quizzes” from the course navigation menu
- Click on “+ Quiz”
- Select “New Quizzes”
- Click submit
- Give the quiz a name and set any additional dates etc (note: you can go back and set these once you have built the quiz)
- Click on “Build”
- On the “Build” page, click “Settings” tab
- Enable “Allow multiple attempts”
- Tick the checkbox beside “Enable build on last attempt”
- Recommendation: Enable “Restrict student result view” and tick the four checkboxes:
- “Show points awarded (overall and per question)”
- “Show items and questions”
- “Show strident response”
- “Indicate response as correct/incorrect”
If you have an existing ‘new’ quiz:
- Click on “Quizzes” from the course Navigation menu
- Find the New Quiz you want to change the settings
- Click on the three dots at the right-hand side of this Quiz
- Click on “Build”
- On the “Build” page, click “Settings” tab
- Enable “Allow multiple attempts”
- Tick the checkbox beside “Enable build on last attempt”
- Recommendation: Enable “Restrict student result view” and tick the four checkboxes:
- “Show points awarded (overall and per question)”
- “Show items and questions”
- “Show strident response”
- “Indicate response as correct/incorrect”
