What to look at when discussing moderation in the Programme Committee (PC) meetings.
Tabling and approving moderation at Programme Committee meetings
As a Programme Committee;
- Approve the Moderation Planning & Tracking Tool (MP & TT) annually and any updates as required throughout the year.
- Moderation is a standing agenda item, reports by the ALQ should be discussed and approved regularly.
- New and/or revised assessments must be approved before they are given to the students.
Academic Lead Quality Report & papers required
This report lists:
- Any moderation undertaken since their previous report
- Any upcoming moderation
- A copy of the Moderation Planning & Tracking Tool (MP&TT) outcomes as at the date of the report
The report does not constitute discussion as it is a tabled document.
Wording for motions in Programme Committee minutes:
- an ALQ report is received by the Programme Committee
The Moderation Agenda Item and minutes
The moderation agenda item is the discussion undertaken at the Programme Committee to identify and discuss the outcomes of moderation – including but not limited to:
- Successful outcomes
- Moderation that has not met requirements
- Action plans
- Recommendations from the moderator
- Response from the assessor
- Update on previous moderation with outstanding actions
Wording for motions in Programme Committee minutes:
- They can make recommendations based on the discussion OR
- They can accept the outcome of the moderation reports
