How to post a Chat in Canvas.
Chat allows you to contact all members of your Canvas course who are online, and active in Chat at any one time. You can arrange to have a chat time with your students. This acts like a real time Discussion.
- Click on Chat in the Navigation Menu.
- Type your message in the text box below the main window.
- Click Send.
Hints and Tips
- The history of the Chat will be stored.
- Messages from you will be labelled ‘Instructor’ so that your messages are more visible.
- Chat will allow emojis
- Web address are clickable
- Open Chat in a different browser window if you want to browse around Canvas at the same time as chatting.
