What-If Grades in the Canvas Gradebook

Learn how to use the What If Grades feature in Canvas.

What-If Grades feature in Canvas Gradebook.

Your students can view their grades based on What-If Grades so that they know how grades will be affected by upcoming or resubmitted assignments. They can test scores for an assignment that already includes a score, or an assignment that has yet to be graded.

This change will not influence their official scores.

Below is the way they use this feature to simulate their scores.

  1. Click on Mark from the course navigation menu.
  2. Click on any score to change it.
  1. The total score will be updated automatically to reflect this change.
  2. The student can click on Revert to Actual Score to save the current simulation and roll back to the original score(s).
  3. Alternatively the student can click on the back arrow sign to undo this change.

This feature is only available for Students.
