All workshops are conveniently held online throughout the year, use the button below to book your place – seats are limited.

NEW: AI and Teaching Workshop

This two hour Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshop is available by arrangement with the Academic Centre. Bookings for this workshop will be available once a request has been made and agreed to. This is a workshop that is designed to help you understand AI’s potential in education and how artificial intelligence (despite the negative press) is improving education. 

NEW: AI Detection and the Swiss Cheese Model Workshop

This one-hour AI workshop is available by arrangement with the Academic Centre. Bookings for this workshop will be available once a request has been made and agreed to. The workshop is designed to help you understand what Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) means to assessment, understand how the Swiss Cheese Metaphor is applied to assessment, and know how to use appropriate assessment methods in the AI environment. 

Kickstart for New Staff

Introduction

This 2-hour Kickstart session is about getting you up and running, this workshop is about MIT as an academic organisation and what you need to know. Note: This does not replace any School level induction.

Objectives

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

    1. Recognise where you can find help and resources for teaching at MIT

    1. Identify how Academic Centre can help you teach at MIT

    1. Identify where to get help if you are new to teaching

    1. Locate information on MIT governance, policies and procedures
